Rosa’s Coats began in a small Colorado town, where winters were long and cold and kindness was a way of life.
When Rosa Mitchell learned that a child at the local elementary school didn’t have a coat, she didn’t hesitate. She searched her own children’s closets, gathered what she could, and made sure that child stayed warm. Over the years, Rosa and her husband Pete quietly helped again and again — never seeking recognition, only wanting to care for children who needed it most.
When Pete passed away at the age of 93, Rosa asked friends and family to honor his life not with flowers, but with donations to help children in need. That simple request became the seed for something bigger.
Today, Rosa’s Coats continues that legacy — providing brand-new winter coats to children and sharing a message of God’s love through a small card placed in every pocket.
It’s a simple act. A tiny seed.
But sometimes, that’s all it takes to change a life.
